Katie Hatfield

Katie Hatfield is a dancer and choreographer who grew up training locally in the Orange County
area. Katie recently graduated with a BFA in Dance from Western Michigan University, having
been named the program’s 2025 Presidential Scholar. Throughout her time at Western, she had
the privilege of performing a variety of works by notable guest artists and faculty, including Tsai
Hsi Hung, Jae Man Joo, Christa Smutek, Mike Esperanza, Kiki Lucas, Kelsey Paschich, Carolyn
Pavlik, and Monique Haley. Katie developed a passion for choreographing and teaching at a
young age and was awarded multiple competition choreography awards for her work while in
high school. During her time in Michigan, Katie had the opportunity to showcase her
choreography in a number of settings, including the 2024 Detroit Dance City Festival. Her goal in
dance education is to create a positive, energetic environment that encourages self-expression
and growth. Katie is so excited to share her passion with the dancers of ADC!
